Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – Airports of Thailand (AOT) meeting agreed to cut 20 percent of the landing fee at all its airports.

Piyapan Champasut, president of AOT, revealed the fee cuts covered the Suvarnabhumi, Don Muang, Phuket, Hat Yai, Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai Airport.

This new measure will be effective between February 1 and September 30, 2009.

AOT expected such measure would lead to 400 million baht of revenue loss. However, the company would gain more revenue in airport fee

The issue of helping non-airline-related businesses and King Power will be discussed at the next board meeting.

A panel was set up to probe 6,000 missing trolleys at the airport. There are totally 9,000 trolleys available.

Built in 2006, Suvarnabhumi Airport is to replace Don Muang Airport as Thailand’s international airport.

After delays and three decades of planning, the airport’s first flight was launched on September 15, 2006.
