Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva is going to talk to Thai people on NBT Channel, focusing on government’s performance rather than political attack.
Sathit Wongnongtoei, PM’s Office Minister, yesterday said the premier would use the channel to update people on what the government has done.
The weekly TV address is scheduled to first take place on January 18.
The TV address is postponed to that day because the Children’s Day will
be held on January 10.
The Bangkok Governor by-elections will also occur on January 11.
The title of the program will be later announced. Sathit said the government did not mind if the opposition’s leader would like to hold the program as well.
Abhisit told the reporters that the pro-Thaksin group could run the DTV and that should be under the law.
Former Thaksin Shinawatra reportedly spent 50 million baht to support the setup of DTV which will focus only on politics.
