Bangkok - 432,000 people were unemployed in September and the highest unemployment rate was in the northeast, according to the National Statistical Office.
The unemployment rate accounted for 1.1 percent of the 37,760,000
workforce.
There were 301,000 male workers who were unemployed, outnumbering the 131,000 unemployed female workers.
The northeast topped the list with 1.3% unemployment rate followed by Bangkok and the north (1.2%) and the south (1%) respectively.
The least rate of 0.9% was in the central region.
About 162,000 people have not worked before while 270,000 people used to have jobs.
133,000 unemployed people were in the manufacturing sector and 110,000 unemployed people in the service sector.
The unemployment rate was 27,000 in the agricultural sector.
Most of the unemployed were primary school and university graduates.
