Bangkok - The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) selected Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai as areas to study the haze problem.
The AIT joined Chiang Mai Municipality and Mae Fah Luang University in Chiang Rai to hold the international conference on October 28.
The meeting took place at the Country Hill Resort, Chiang Mai.
It was aimed at sustainably promote green environment in the future. Good management was studied to create cities which are pleasant to live in.
Representatives from Australia, Canada, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, the Phillipines, Vietnam and Thailand attended the meeting.
Interesting issues such as sustainable city planning, land management, pollution reduction, and anti-global warming were also raised.
Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai were chosen for the study to solve haze problem.
