Bangkok - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) planned to register the areas from Vasukree Pier to Memorial Bridge as the world heritage sites.

Ms. Anchalee Pattamasawan, director of the BMA’s city planning office, revealed the registration was to reflect that the areas were the origin of civilization and Rattanakosin island.

The areas were also recognized for their historical and cultural values, and worth conserving as the cultural landscapes.

All sectors would be drawn to join hands to conserve those areas.

The BMA’s city planning office was preparing the documents to submit to the World Heritage Committee for such registration.

The management plan would also be conducted.

The BMA would gear up to conserve and restore important places as well as the environments.

In addition, it would contact the Fine Arts Department and other relating units to prepare for the registration.

Its working group and panel would also be established to carry out the project.
