Bangkok - Thai people took too much sugar, putting themselves at disease risk, according to the Nutrition Association of Thailand.
It was previously said Thais became aggressive as they took too little sugar and that sugar did not cause obesity.
Such news made consumers confused very much.
The Thai society is currently the society of too much sugar consumption.
Thai people’s sugar consumption is three times higher than the standard. Normally, a person should take less than 6-8 teaspoons per day of sugar.
But a Thai averagely takes 20 teaspoons of sugar per day which is much more than necessary.
Sugar only gives four kilocalories of energy whereas rice and flour give energy as well as other necessary nutritions.
Excessive sugar will be kept in the body in the form of glycogens and fat which will be changed to free fatty acids.
Thais who take too much sugar likely develop diseases such as diabetes, high-blood pressure and paralysis.
