Bangkok - US President George W. Bush will pay a two-day official visit to Thailand next month and give a speech on Asian policy, according to foreign ministry’s spokesman Thanit.
Bush and the first lady will be the guests of Thai government on August 6 and 7, Tharit Charungvat told reporters.
"He will deliver a speech about the US position toward Asia," he said.
Bush, whose term ends early next year, will also meet Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej,
It was reported the purpose of the trip was "to celebrate 175 years of the US-Thailand relations.
Bilateral and regional issues will be discussed by Bush and premier Samak.
Bush is scheduled to be in South Korea before heading to Thailand.
