Bangkok - The weekly television address to the nation “Talking Samak Style” will be broadcast to approach Thai viewers in Los Angeles, according to Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej.
Samak gave an interview to the IPTV, Thai cable TV channel in the United States, saying he wanted overseas Thais to use their judgements concerning the political situation in Thailand.
He also said keeping in touch was a good thing and thanksed Global Network for building a better understanding among Thais.
Asked about how Thais could help improve their country, Samak urged overseas Thais to register to exercise their political rights.
He added that Thailand was on the right path. But some parties use the technology to make people misunderstand the government.
“I have to fight because I am the leader of the government. It is all right for them to accuse me. But when I talk on a TV channel, they just want to remove the program. This is a difference,” said the premier.
IPTV is said to be used by the pro-Thaksin group. Regular guests to its TV program was Mrs. Chaba Tangthanu (Chaturabul) and Mr. Anek Chaichana.
It had presented an exclusive interview with the then-premier Thaksin Shinawatra on September 18, 2007, one day before the military coup took place.
