Bangkok - Information for direct football gambling was found in four sports newspapers, according to a survey.
Six daily newspapers and six sports newspapers were surveyed about the Euro 2008, gambling and luck draws.
Mr. Tham Chuasathapanasiri, manager of the Media Monitor scheme, revealed information which was published on newspapers and broadcast on radio stations was mostly all right.
The ten radio programs were broadcast on FM90, FM99 and FM105.
However, information leading to football gambling was found on Sportman, Sport Pool, Kick Off and Joh Game Newspaper.
There were twelve luck draw activities during the Euro 2008, compared to twenty seven luck draw activities during the Euro 2006.
A British bookmaking advertisement was found in the Kickoff Team program on FM105 radio station.
Mrs. Nuannoi Trirat, Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Economics professor, said football gambling related to the media the most as the media were a source of information for the gamblers.
