Bangkok - It is primarily estimated PTT will totally import 100,000 tons of LPG till the end of this year, according to its vice president for oil business Mr. Chaiwat Choorit.
Previously, PTT planned to import 22,000 tons of LPG from the Middle East countries.
The price of imported LPG remained at 900 US dollars per barrel which was higher than the price of 320 US dollars per barrel at home.
The LPG shortage is possibly caused by continuously soaring demand, especially in the transport sector.
The government has maintained the LPG price at 18.13 baht per kilogram since March.
Concerns over shortage are expressed as the price freezing will last only until July.
