The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has encouraged people to protect the environment and save energy.
People were urged to clean their houses, separate the garbage, save energy, turn to cloth bags rather than plastic bags, and turn off the switch for one hour per day.
Eleven districts in Bangkok were ordered to clean the footpaths, roads, flyovers, public phone booths, and passenger pavilions.
Entrepreneurs in the nearby areas also gave their cooperation to clean their buildings and improve the landscapes.
The United Nations Environment Program (UNDP) was first established on June 5, 1972.
That was when worldwide countries first had a chance to jointly solve the environmental problems.
