Bangkok - Robinson Silom branch will tomorrow end its operation after 24-year opening. Three new branches will later be opened.
Mrs. Usara Yongpiyakul, Robinson Department Store Plc assistant vice president for marketing, said the company would close its Silom branch within this month.
The company has signed the 24-year rental contract which will terminate in 2011.
Big marketing campaign has been held since April 25. Up to 70-90% discount is offered. The campaign will run until May 23.
Usara reasoned that the branch is too small for the renovation to be in line with consumers’ lifestyles and extend to the high-end group.
The company plans to open not less than three branches by 2009. These branches will be in Chonburi, Ubon Ratcha Thani and Khon Kaen province.
Six more branches will be opened by 2010.
Three more flagship stores will be launched at Ratchadapisek, in Udon Thani and Phuket at the total budget of 400 million baht.
