Bangkok - The Foundation for Women (FFW) agreed with the United Nations (UN) that Myanmar’s Nargis victims could be lured to enter the human traffick circle.

Miss Mathana Chetamee, FFW news center coordinator, said it was possible that the afflicted people would be taken advantage by the human traffickers.

She added that Thais were exploited during the tsunami which took place in December 2004.

But the situation in Myanmar was more complex as it is not open to the international communities.

UNICEF in Myanmar estimated one third of the dead victims was children.

Cyclone Nargis hit Myanmar on May 2, leaving more than 70,000 people dead and over 50,000 missing.

Concerns over communicative diseases and mental rehabilitation were expressed.
