Bangkok - Thailand extends its condolences to cyclone-hit Myanmar, offering 100,000 US dollars of subsidy.
Foreign Affairs Minister Noppadon Pattama revealed more than 10,000 people were dead and 30,000 more are missing.
Thailand’s military C-130 airplane left Tuesday afternoon for Yangon, with food and medical supplies.
More than 100,000 people are homeless after the cyclone attack.
Noppadon said Myanmar’s central part of Rangoon is damaged the most, adding that help can be in the form of either stuff or money.
Myanmar specially needs zinc for roofing and tents, according to Thai Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Bansarn Bunnag.
Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej yesterday extended condolences to Gen Thein Sein.
Noppadon also said Myanmar appreciates that Thailand is among the first countries to give help to it.
