Bangkok - PTT Plc plans to donate fuel oil and consumer products worth about 16 million baht (500,000 US dollars) to the cyclone-hit Myanmar.
The Cyclone Nargis which hit Myanmar on Friday damaged several areas in Myanmar, causing people dead, injured and homeless.
PTT Plc’s affiliate PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP) also offered the diesel oil and zinc support worth about six million baht.
Energy Ministry plans to give fuel oil, cash and consumer goods to Myanmar. Engineers will also be sent to install the power system. The support totally values one million US dollars.
Energy Minister Poonpirom Liptapanlop confirmed the Cyclone Nargis did not affect the gas fields which Thailand relies on.
So, there should be no problem about the power system in Thailand.
