Hat Yai news center - Southern people believe the People Power Party wants to amend the constitution to avoid punishments, according to Hat Yai poll.
Hatyai University surveyed the people in the 14 southern provinces concerning the constitution amendments.
1,100 respondents were surveyed during March 28-31.
55.7% of the respondents agreed to the Election Commission’s resolution that Chart Thai and Matchima Party should be dissolved while 43.3% disagreed to the resolution.
63.3% thought Yongyut Tiyapairat’s case could not lead to the People Power Party dissolution while 34.8% thought the case could lead to the party’s disbanding.
52.3% said the constitution amendments involved the electoral fraud while 44.2% said the amendments did not involve politics.
56.9% did not want the government to amend the charter while 38.4% did.
49.8% wanted a referendum on charter amendments while 47.2% did not.
The southern people wanted the government to maintain the judicial process and solve the unrest. They also wanted the government to administer the country for the sake of the whole, not for its own sake.
