Bangkok - Police chief Seripisut Taemiyaves will officially send a letter to PM Samak to ask for a reason for his transfer after finishing his duty in the south. He will bring the case to the Supreme Court if the transfer is not fair.
Pol Gen Seripisut was transferred to an inactive post at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Seripisut took the top job just a year ago, when he was also made a member of the junta that toppled Thaksin government in 2006.
"I have done my best so far. I really have no idea why I was transferred,” he told reporters.
The police chief looked stressful and discontent during giving his interview to the media.
His sacking comes a day after Thaksin's dramatic homecoming.
Pol Gen Seripisut is the fourth high-profile person transferred during Samak government.
Sunai Manomai-udom, head of the Department of Special Investigation, was moved to a new agency within the justice ministry.
Five federations in the south plan to petition to HM the King to ask for justice for the police chief.
