Poll: more than 50% missed Thaksin

Bangkok - More than 80% of Thai people regularly kept up with political news and more than 50% missed the former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, according to Assumption University’s poll.

3,553 correspondents aged 12 years old up were interviewed in this survey.

The survey covered twenty seven provinces nationwide and was conducted during February 20-26.

More than 80% of the correspondents regularly kept up with political news.

83.9% thought politics was very important for the country while 65% expressed concerns over the current political situation.

Children and youths spoke about and were in favor of Thaksin more than adults.

45.8% missed the former prime minister Thaksin very much and 12.6% fairly missed him.

However, one in five children and youths and one in four adults thought about charges filed against the ex-premier.
