Bangkok - Thailand will play against Japan in the qualifying round to book its ticket to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Thailand is in Asian Group Two, which also includes Japan, Bahrain and Oman.

A training in the Tokyo suburb of Saitama was postponed last weekend due to snow and the Thai team had to practice indoors.

Thai team is led by three Manchester City FC players -- Suree Sukha, Kiatprawut Saiwaeo and Teerasil Dangda -- who defeated 2006 Asian club champions Jeonbuk Hyundai of South Korea 2-0 on Friday.

"My players are in their best form. It will be an interesting game," Thailand’s coach Chanvit Phalajivin told AFP.

"It's a tough group, with Japan being the unquestionable favourites. However, I think we can take the group's second qualifying place by beating Bahrain and Oman."

Thailand needs 10 points to go further in this group.
