Bangkok - ASTV, free TV via Satellite, plans to live broadcast the Bundesliga football matches on ASTV3 Happy Variety Channel.
A match between Hamburg and Hannover 96 will be live broadcast on February 2.
The highlights of Bundesliga will also be broadcast weekly on the same channel. The program will be available on Monday at 1 a.m., and on Saturday at 1.30 p.m.
The Bundesliga is the highest level of Germany’s football league system. The season starts in early August and lasts until late May, with a winter break of six weeks (mid-December to the end of January).
The term Bundesliga also includes football in Austria and is used to refer to the highest level league competitions in several other sports in these two countries.
The Bundesliga will add a third level for the 2008-2009 season.
Every team must have a licence to play in the Bundesliga league. To obtain a licence, teams must be financially healthy and meet certain standards of conduct as organisations.
Most well-known German clubs include Bayern Munich, Hamburger SV, Borussia Dortmund, FC Schalke 04 and Werder Bremen. Hamburger SV is the only club that has played continuously in the Bundesliga since its foundation.
