The chicks have recently hatched in the only mainland breeding colony near Manly, with their major threats being dog and fox attacks, marine debris like fishing lines and everyday garbage and boat strikes. Little Penguin chicks which are normally hatched near Manly are always at dog and fox attack, and marine debris risk. Little Penguin is the smallest species of penguin.
