SARAJEVO (AFP) - A British man went missing after jumping from the historic 20-metre (65-foot) high bridge in the Bosnian town of Mostar on Monday, Srna news agency reported, quoting local police.
Police were looking for the 22-year-old, who lives in Australia, after witnesses saw him jumping from the historic bridge into the River Neretva, the agency quoted police official Srecko Bosnjak as saying.
The man was accompanied by two friends, one of whom filmed the jump, the agency reported.
Extreme sports enthusiasts have organised a summer jumping competition from the bridge, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for decades.
The bridge, originally built in the 16th century, was destroyed during the 1992-95 war in Bosnia and rebuilt with international help between 2001 and 2004.
