Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – Thai women were considered good leaders and played more roles in the society, according to a poll.
6,720 respondents from all walks of life were surveyed on July 20-29.
32.11 percent of the respondents said Thai women were competent whereas 27.45 percent thought they were keen to seek new knowledge.
21.32 percent said Thai women should practice good manners and help maintain the Thai customs more.
10.29 percent wanted Thai women to be modern leaders focusing on the self-sufficiency economy and 8.83 percent thought they were more alert to danger.
Nevertheless, Thai women still faced some problems. They were taken advantage by men (29.52%), sexually harassed (20.90%), and not fully protected by the laws (17.89%) respectively.
Thai women were not fairly treated like men (16.38%) and had family problems caused by men’s adultery (15.31%).
30.25 percent expected Thai women to practice good manners and follow good Thai customs while 21.17 percent wanted them to fully prove themselves to be more accepted in the society.
