Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – 13.2 percent of high-school students used to have sex and 87.6 percent said they had sex with their lovers, according to a poll.
Assumption University surveyed 1,843 junior high-school and high-school students in Bangkok. The survey was conducted during February 4-12.
Even though 86.8 percent used not to have sex with partners, 13.2 percent used to. Most of their partners were lovers (87.6%), friends from other educational institutes (5.7%), and friends from same educational institutes (3.8%).
They even had sex with sex service sellers (1.9%) and new friends who they met at pubs or other night places (1%).
Incentives for sex having included love/like (62.7%), curiosity (32.1%), and staying close to the opposite sex (26.6%).
However, some respondents were lured by close friends or acquaintances (11%), they were even stimulated by pornography (10.1%), and were drunk (8.3%).
As for those who had sex in the past three months, their partners were lovers (81.7%), friends on the Internet (7.3%), and female karaoke singers (3.7%).
The interesting point was that 84.5 percent of those who had sex were at sexually-transmitted disease risk while 15.7 percent were not.
As for sex service, 89.9 percent disagreed to this kind of service whereas 10.2 percent agreed to.
Another interesting point was that 3.7 percent said they would certainly have sex on the Valentine’s Day whereas 22.6 percent were uncertain.
