Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva will talk to foreign investors today in a hope to bring back confidence, according to the Board of Investment (BOI).
The “PM Meets Investors” event will be held at the Dusit Hotel. This will be the first time the premier officially meets delegates from worldwide private companies.
Abhisit is set to give a special lecture on contingency plan to cope with any urgent situations which will affect the country’s transport system.
It is expected that more than 600 Thai and foreign investors will attend the lecture which will be given in English.
The lecture will be translated into Thai and Japanese. Most of the investors come from Japan.
BOI is going to update participants on investment privileges so as to maintain old investors and attract new ones.
PM Abhisit is supposed to hold road shows overseas in next step.
Santi Vilassakdanont, president of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), viewed the event would help Thailand attract more investors.
Pramont Sutheevong, chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, said this was a good sign because the premier could directly communicate with the investors.
