Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) - Jose Ramos Horta, president of Timor-Leste or East Timor, will officially visit Thailand during January 11-13, according to the foreign ministry.
Horta will be here to tighten ties between the two countries and promote mutual benefits.
HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej will grant him an audience at the Klaikangwol Palace, Prachuap Khiri Khan.
Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva will host a lunch to honor President Horta and his group at the foreign ministry.
During his official visit, Horta will give a lecture entitled “Is Long Lasting Peace an Attainable Dream?” at Ramkhamhaeng University.
Ramkhamhaeng University will present the honorary degree in political science to Horta as well.
With the help of the United Nations, the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste became an independent country on May 20, 2002.
