Bangkok - Boat accidents tend to increase every year, and the average death toll was 22 per year, according to the public health ministry.
The number of injured people was 427 per year.
The highest number was 569 in 2006. Boat accidents increased in each year, according to transport ministry.
87 percent was boat capsizing while 7 percent boat collision. 4 percent were boat accidents caused by fire.
Statistics were based on the number of people treated at 28 big hospitals nationwide during 1998-2007.

The highest number of accidents happened in November-December and April-June.
Number of dead and injured men were four times higher than that of women.
People aged 35-49 years were dead and injured the most.Children aged 15 years tend to get injured and die more.
