Bangkok - The bird flu situation is currently under control and there is no mutation of the H5N1 virus, according to the public health ministry.
Deputy Public Health Minister Vicharn Minchainant was confident the avian flu would not spread to other parts of Thailand due to good preventive measures.
Public health offices in each province updated people about how to prevent the bird flu.
Medical Sciences Department confirmed there has been no mutation of the H5N1 virus so far.
Nearly 20,000 chickens were previously killed due to bird flu concerns.
It was confirmed a 44-year-old woman whose lot of chickens died at her house only had a flu.
Bird flu patient was last found in August, 2006. Thailand has been bird flu-free for two years.
The World Health Organization (WHO) gave about 200 million US dollars to research and develop avian flu vaccine.
