Bangkok - The defeat of Thai amateur boxer Amnaj Ruenroeng was caused by a fixed boxing match, according to Gen Taweep Jantararoj, the president of the Amateur Boxing Association of Thailand.
Amnaj was beaten by Mongolia’s boxer yesterday.
Gen Taweep said it was clearly seen that Amnaj tried his best to fight against his competitor.
He also revealed that he was warned of the fixed match beforehand.
It was said foreign judges, especially a judge from France, were lobbied to give low points to the Thai boxer.
Gen Taweep thought it was common for this kind of event to take place, but he did not think Thai boxer would face it.
He said three Thais lobbied for the fixed match, but he would not give more details due to lack of evidence.
Two Thais are in Thailand while the other is in Beijing.
