Bangkok - Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej supported PTT Plc to join investment with Malaysia’s SKS Corporation in the energy business.
Samak said the government was ready to back the joint investment which would help develop the economy and industry at the Thai-Malaysian border.
The oil pipelines will be laid from Malaysia’s refinery to Thailand’s Songkla province.
The oil pipelines will act as the export terminal to distribute oil to other regions through shipments.
SKS Corporation’s chief and Malaysian ambassador to Thailand paid their courtesy visit to premier Samak on July 30.
The pipelines are 40 inches wide and cover the distance of 90 kilometres.
The report on the project was submitted to Prime Minister Samak. Samak will give the report to relating parties for further study.
