Bangkok - The private sector supported the cabinet reshuffle, calling for the united economic team to handle the economic problem.
Pramont Sutheewong, chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC), said the team-oriented and qualified persons were needed in the economic team.
He added there was no unity in the government’s previous economic team. Political factor also made the economic problem not be taken care of.
Pramont hopes the cabinet reshuffle will make the government work better this time.
This is in line with the opinion of Dusit Nontanakorn, the TCC’s secretary-general who revealed Thailand is in the economic crisis.
He urged the finance minister to collaborate with the private sector through the Joint Public-Private Sector Committee.
Atip Bijanonda, president of the Thai Condominium Association, said the government should try to stabilize itself before continuing doing its job.
He also urged the government to speed up all projects and give its priority to the economic problem.
Sompob Manarangsan, Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Economics professor, said the government’s new team should be able to build confidence in the general public, private and consumer sector.
