Bangkok - People are warned of bird flu which can be widespread in the cool and humid weather, especially in the rainy season and winter.
Prof Dr Yong Phoovorawan, senior researcher at the Thailand Research Fund (TRF), emphasized that the H5N1 strain would still be with Thailand for a long time.
He said the bird flu had to be watched out throughout the year, urging all parties to follow the safety measure austerely.
It was reported Chulalongkorn University developed the method to examine the bird flu rapidly.
The resistance to Tamiflu drug and virus mutation in the molecular level were also studied.
Tamiflu is the drug for flu treatment and prevention in adults and children.
Tamiflu which is designed for the N2 strain does not work effectively on the N1 strain.
The H5N1 strain is the fast-mutating avian influenza virus found in multiple bird species.
More than ten kinds of anti-bird flu drug were being sent to further test for their effectiveness.
