Bangkok - Energy ministry agreed to allocate the low-priced diesel oil to afflicted parties.

The cabinet assigned relating units to find out who should get the assistance.

732 million litres of oil were derived from the oil refineries and this will be given to affected parties properly. 122 million litres per month will be allocated for six months.

The so-called cheap diesel is three baht per litre lower than the market price.

The energy ministry also signed an agreement to buy the natural gas from Myanmar.

Thailand’s natural gas demand is up to 3,600 million cubic feet per day this year.

The demand will rise to 5,350 and 7,300 million cubic feet per day in 2012 and 2021 respectively.

To serve soaring demand, Thailand has joined hands with Myanmar to explore and produce the natural gas from the M9 field which yields 1.57 trillion cubic feet of gas.
