Bangkok - Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej paid a two-day visit to the Philippines starting on May 22.
Samak is accompanied by commander-in-chief Gen Anupong Paojinda to Manila amidst rumors that there will be another military coup.
He visited a market in Manila to check the prices of basic goods, promising to sell rice to the Philippines at a negotiable price during his talks with his Philippine counterpart Gloria Arroyo.
