Bangkok - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) today offers the identity card in the form of a smart card. The new-style ID card will be first available at eight districts.
Those districts include Phra Nakhon, Dusit, Buengkum, Saphan Soong, Bangsue, Bangplad, Banbon and Bangkae Districts.
The service will be launched at eight districts everyday.
It will also be available at Suan Luang, Bangkapi, Yannawa, Sathorn, Din Daeng, Huaykwang, Bangkorlaem and Ratburana District on May 13.
That will be later extended to cover fifty districts.
The service is also available in provinces like Phuket and Phichit, and people seem to give a warm welcome to the smart ID card.
