Bangkok - The Public Health Ministry will officially launch the flush toilet project today to campaign for clean toilets.

Mr. Chawarat Charnweerakul, Deputy Public Health Minister, inspected the petrol stations and found lot of them were dirty and were not properly handled.

Mr. Wan Yoobamrung, secretary general of Deputy Public Health Minister, will be Mr. Happy Toilet presenter to campaign for clean toilets at service stations.

Wan had an idea to turn all petrol stations’ toilets into flush toilets. He said he did not care whether people would think his idea was funny or not.

Previously, Wan was much criticized when taking his post at the Public Health Ministry.

He is Thailand’s first Mr. Happy Toilet and will encourage people to properly use and clean public toilets.

Only 20% of the public toilets are up to the standard.

The owners of toilets which are not up to the cleaning standard will be fined for not less than 2,000 baht.

Dirty toilets can cause communicative diseases such as digestive disease, diarrhea, cholera and other complications.
