Bangkok - Thailand is among the most corrupt countries according to the Political and Economic Risk Consultancy (PERC) survey, coming in the eleventh place after the Philippines.
Some 1,400 expatriate businessmen were polled in January and February this year.
Singapore and Hong Kong retained their rankings as the cleanest economies, according to the survey.
The annual survey covers only 13 economies in Asia, excluding Myanmar and Bangladesh which are notorious for corruption.
As in the 2007 survey, Thailand remained the second most corrupt economy after the Philippines with a score of 8.0.
Indonesia, which ranked behind Thailand with a score of 7.98.
Corruption is seen to become better in Thailand whose score was 8.03 last year.
