BANGKOK - An American man wanted in the United States on charges of child molestation has been arrested on the Thai resort island of Phuket, police said Wednesday.
Earl Bonds, 42, was arrested Tuesday in Phuket town, where he was staying with his Thai boyfriend, police said.
Bonds was being taken to Bangkok to await extradition to the United States, said Colonel Chanatpol Yongbanjerd, chief of immigration. Thailand has already revoked his visa, Chanatpol added.
He has been charged in the United States with molesting an 11-year-old boy in 2003 in Saint Louis, Missouri, according to AFP.
Thailand has become the focus of international concerns over sexual abuse of children following a spate of paedophile arrests.
