Bangkok - According to UTCC poll, most teenagers will celebrate this year’s Valentine’s Day. The atmosphere will be less lively due to expensive product prices.
Mr. Thanawat Pholwichai, director of the economic and business forecast center of University of Thai Chamber of Commerce, revealed 45.3% teenagers viewed this year’s Valentine’s Day would be less lively due to high product prices.
1,223 respondents were surveyed during February 8-10, according to UTCC.
52.1% would celebrate the festival while 47.9% would not. 70% of respondents would celebrate it with lovers and 13% with friends.
33.7% of them would buy flowers for their lovers while 22.2%, 19.5%, 16% and 8.6% chose cards, gifts, chocolate and dolls respectively.
88.5% and 86.4% thought flowers and gifts were overpriced.
80.2% and 76.5% were premature sex and sexual abuse.
It was expected more than 2,159.46 million baht of cash would be spent during this year’s festival, a 15% increase from last year.
