Bangkok - Department of Labour Protection and Welfare (DLPW) yesterday announced the temporary closure of Chonburi’s Laem Chabang seaport due to gas leakage causing two dead and another eight injured.
The gas explosion took place on Monday evening at a dock in which a ship was undergoing a repair work.
UniThai Shipyard and Engineering will have to take responsibility if anything is against the law in terms of chemicals and labour protection act.
The dead workers’ relatives will each get a subsidy of about 400,000-700,000 baht for funeral fee.
The injured workers will each receive a compensation of 35,000-200,000 baht based on their salaries.
