Bangkok - AA spends seven billion baht on its new plant in Prachinburi province, raising its capacity to one million tons per year to serve the domestic and overseas growth.
Mr. Chanwit Charusombat, Advance Agro Plc (AA)’s vice-president, revealed the company raised the price of some product items to cope with increasing cost and strong baht currency.
It invested seven billion baht on its third plant in Prachinburi province. The plant has the capacity of 400,000 tons per year. The operation will partly begin at the end of January 2008.
Advance Agro’s export accounts for 60% while domestic sales 40%. It will maintain the figures despite soaring domestic demand.
The company aims to extend the distribution channel in 2008, targeting corporate clients in the government and private sector.
AA’s current distribution channels include the hypermarkets like Tesco Lotus, Makro, bookstores, and traditional trades.
According to AA’s senior executive vice-president Mr. Theerawit Leethavorn, the company’s total revenue was 5,867 million baht in the third quarter of 2007 and its net profit was 242 million baht.
Its total revenue valued 17,635 million baht in the first nine month of 2007. Its revenue rose 9% to 13,663 million baht. The net profit was 54 million baht.
