Once home to dozens of peep shows and pornography cinemas, only a few now survive following a crack down that started with former Mayor Rudy Giuliani and his effort to clean-up Times Square in the 1990s.

The owners of the city's remaining peep shows, adult DVD stores and strip clubs said a recent court ruling could put them out of business.

The state Court of Appeals has reinstated rules that date to 2001 forbidding any business with "live performances characterized by an emphasis on certain specified anatomical areas or specified sexual activities, as well as sexually explicit videos from all but a few selected city zones.
