LOS ANGELES (AFP) - A self-described pimp was found guilty Monday for a 2013 drive-by shooting in Las Vegas that killed three people, including an aspiring rapper.
A jury in the western US city returned guilty verdicts against Ammar Harris, who could now face the death penalty.
Harris, 29, was arrested in February 2013 after opening fire from his Range Rover at Kenneth Cherry, also known as Kenny Clutch, as he drove his Maserati on the famed Las Vegas Strip.
Cherry's car sped through an intersection after the shooting and crashed into a taxi cab that burst into flames. The cab driver and his passenger were killed in the fiery crash.
Harris had maintained that someone in the Maserati had shot at him, but police found no weapon in the car.
The killing recalled a similar drive-by shooting in Las Vegas in 1996 that left rapper Tupac Shakur dead.
That shooting has never been solved.
