BOGOTA (AFP) - A Colombian policewoman was killed and two other officers wounded in a shooting inside the Bogota police headquarters Wednesday, apparently following an argument between lovers, officials said.
The shooter was himself a police officer and he used his service weapon to open fire on a woman officer inside the building, the national police said in a statement.
He then wounded two other officers including one who'd come out of his office to try to control the situation.
The young woman died from her wounds in a police clinic, where the other two officers were also hospitalized, a police source told AFP.
General Rodolfo Palomino, the commander of the national police, announced an investigation into the shooting. Early indications were that it was a "crime of passion."
