Exosuit

เผยแพร่:   โดย: MGR Online

New York, New York, UNITED STATES: A one-of-a-kind “Exosuit,” (R) a next-generation atmospheric diving system capable of taking a diver down 1,000 feet (305 meters) at surface pressure, on temporary display at the American Museum of Natural History February 27, 2014 in New York with a custom-made remotely operated vehicle (DeepReef-ROV) (L). Owned by the J.F. White Contracting Company, the Exosuit measures about 6.5-feet (1.98 meters) tall and weighs more than 530 pounds (240 kilograms), the hard-metal suit offers divers protection from the ocean’s pressure while maintaining the dexterity and maneuverability to perform delicate tasks, such as sampling and imaging marine biodiversity with high-resolution underwater cameras and will be tested as a scientific tool this July off the coast of New England on the Stephen J. Barlow Bluewater Expedition, partly sponsored by the museum. AFP PHOTO/Stan Honda
