PARIS (AFP) - Here is a list of the 20 tallest buildings in Europe, following the inauguration of The Shard in London, which takes over the number one spot from the Capital City Moscow Tower in Russia.

Unenclosed structures like the Eiffel Tower in Paris, which at 324 metres (1,063 feet) is slightly taller than The Shard, are not included.

The tallest building in the world remains the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, opened in 2010. It soars 828 metres (2,717 feet) above the Gulf emirate, and boasts 200 floors.
