SEOUL (AFP) - Two pilots were killed Friday when their light planes collided during flight training and crashed in South Korea, police said.
The Cessna planes came down in fields in Uljin county on the east coast and no other casualties were reported.
The aircraft had taken off without instructors from Uljin airport's flight training centre, which operates in cooperation with Korea Aerospace University and Hanseo University.
The victims, aged 34 and 31, were among 78 trainees enrolled.
"It appears the accident happened during a sole flight course that trainees take after a series of education courses," a Korea Aerospace University official told Yonhap news agency.
Aviation authorities are investigating.
