TOKYO (AFP) - An explosion ripped through a chemical plant in western Japan on Thursday, killing four workers, emergency services said.
The men were conducting maintenance work at the Morita Chemical Industries factory in Osaka when the explosion occurred shortly before 9:00 am (midnight GMT), according to local police and fire department officials.
One worker was killed on the spot. Three others were rushed to hospital but later confirmed dead, a police spokesman said.
