Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – Huaykwang police raided into FM Street casino last night, arresting 155 people at the scene. Some more gamblers successfully escaped.
152 card players all tried to run away through the back door when policemen entered the place.
67 men and 85 women were arrested to face legal actions although several other people managed to escape.
The casino is in Huaykwang District and on the second floor of a building which was earlier used to run a pub named HIP.
FM Street casino is reportedly owned by a Korean investor. It was temporarily closed when there was a serious crackdown on all kinds of gambling at the end of last month.
The gambling place has illegally opened for several months already.
Several decks of cards were confiscated as well as ten-million-baht chips and 150,000-baht cash.
