Bangkok (Own Source) - Pen-Ek Rattanaruang’s Nang Mai film is one of the fifty-two films competing in the Cannes Film Festival.
The opening film will be "Up" by Peter Docter (United States) whereas the closing film "Coco Chanel and Igor Stravinsky" by Jan Kounen (France).
The French film festival will be taking place on May 13-24.
Pen-Ek’s Nang Mai (Nymph) is the supernatural drama which will premiere in the Un Certain Regard competition at the 62nd Cannes film festival.
The film is about a young wife whose husband is kidnapped by a nymph in the jungle. Wanida Temthanaporn took this lead actress role while Nopachai Jayanama was in the lead actor role.
Pen-Ek’s previous films include Last Life in the Universe, Mon Rak Transistor and Invisible Waves.
Nang Mai is his first horror film and marks his competition in the international film festival in Cannes.
Nang Mai is the co-production by Five Star Production and Fortissimo Film.
